Deeply discounted VR products are key drivers during China’s Singles Day

Since the first “Singles Day” in China on November 11th, 2009, Tmall, an Alibaba eCommerce platform, has offered big discounts on that day each year. This year, Singles Day sales totaled over 200 billion Chinese RMB, or approximately US $28.8 billion. This annual event, which is equivalent to Black Friday in North America, has become very popular, and now extends for an entire week.
