The Void, a leading location-based entertainment venue operator, opened its first Asia-Pacific (APAC) location on December 6th in Malaysia. Over the last three years, The Void has expanded to more than ten locations worldwide.

Malaysia is a growing entertainment market with an average annual 10.1% increase in gross box office receipts over the past five years. In 2017, a total of 983.64m ringgit ($236.2m) box office was collected, an increase of 7.5% from 2016, according to National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).

However, Malaysia’s economy, population, and entertainment sectors are still relatively small compared to APAC markets like China and India. So what attracted The Void to open its first APAC location in Malaysia?
